2020 Gift Guide for Her

HAPPY HOLIDAYS! I must confess, I have been in the holiday spirit since November first. While I know that is too early for some, I personally needed some cheer with the way 2020 has been going. I LOVE to give people gifts. It doesn’t matter what time of year it is, I can always find a reason to give someone a gift no matter what. Frankly, I don’t think you even need a reason to give someone a gift, but that’s just me! That being said, Christmas is definitely my favorite because my love language gets to shine in full force.

Every year I post a collection of gift guides as well as what is on my personal wish list - this year is no exception!

If you follow us on instagram and watch our IG stories, then you know I love shoes! Specifically designer shoes. Once I started wearing designer heels my shoe life changed! News flash, my friends, a well made designer heel is so comfortable that - dare I say - you can’t even tell you are wearing heels at all! My personal collection includes designers from Kate Spade to Valentino to Dior and each one has been more comfortable and easier to wear than the last! On the flip side of heels, I also love a good sneaker or a cute slide. I have the pink Dior slides above on my Christmas list and I believe those Birkenstocks as well!

Beauty

These three products have changed my life! After years of damage from heat treatments and over dyeing my hair, my hair was so damaged that it was breaking off in clumps. I was depressed and struggled to feel beautiful. If anything good came from lockdown, for me it was the reset that happened in my beauty routine. Since the shutdown began in March, I haven’t dyed my hair and I’ve avoided the use of extreme heat. As a result, my hair has grown like a weed and it's shinier and softer than ever before. I contribute the shine, softness and growth all to these three products. If there is a woman in your life that loves their hair, then they are sure to love any of these products!

Pearls and Natural Home Decor

I am sitting on our sectional in our living room waiting to see who our next president will be. It is exciting but also super nerve racking! I already put up the main Christmas tree and one in the dining room, I made risotto and a pork loin for dinner, drank a bottle of champagne and now have a loaf of coffee, Nutella banana in the oven (if you aren’t already signed up for our news letter you will want to be in order to get the recipe! I promise its so worth it!!). As I wait for the banana bread to finish baking I figured I’d share some items from my current favorite! If you ARE signed up for our news letter you would have already seen that my two favorite trends right now are Pearls and Natural home decor. I have a ton of additional items that I want share and will list them below!

I have been wearing a variety of pearl earrings for years now and love how they go with any outfit! Pearls are popping up everywhere, from bridal fashion and runway to the high streets and fast fashion. Pearls are a simple and classy staple item that never go out of style.

As for natural home decor, think wicker, fresh and dried florals, cotton and linen. I'm in the process of switching to an all natural lifestyle including hair care, makeup, food and pretty much anything I, or my family, come into contact with. I even started making Odin and Ollie's dog food! I switched because I want a healthier and safer home, especially as our family grows in the future! I've started to swap our pillow cases and covers to natural linen and silk for our bed. Dried floral arrangements bring texture and romance to each room of our home. You can preserve flowers that have a special significance to you or that you just love. Wicker baskets are overly abundant to hold dog toys and even fruit in the kitchen. It's great knowing these items come from nature and I am happy to have them in my hom

The EM Edit: What I Bought This Week

Hello Gorgeous!

Besides cooking and baking up a storm in quarantine I have been spending a little too much time shopping online. As Spring is quickly coming and flying by I spent some time going through my closet and donating a lot of pieces that I no longer love. I tend to do this at the beginning of each season. It is a great way to refresh your closet and clean up a space that you probably don’t tidy and organize as much as other spots in your house.

Once the donating and organizing is complete I feel its only fair I can’t to reward myself with a few pieces that I feel are missing from my wardrobe. This time around I realized I am seriously lacking “basics”. So a majority of the items on this edit of wardrobe basics that I think everyone could use in their wardrobes!

When I saw this bodysuit I knew I needed it and in every color! I am so obsessed with the neck line. Currently on sale!

My all time favorite jeans: Levi’s Ribcage Straight Ankle! I currently have the Ribcage Flare Ankle and get compliments on them all the time so when I saw these on sale on Amazon I purchased them right away!

I heard that Abercrombie and Fitch’s Sherpa Fleece pullovers are pull over heaven. So when I sale they were on sale I figured “why not?”. I didn't get this pretty blue color but pop over to the Em and E Events Instagram latest IGTV to see what color I did get!

I am a lover of designer shoes and bags. I think that any basic outfit can instantly be elevated with a classic designer piece. I have had my eye on the Black Rockstud Valentino’s for some time now. I figured that can be my prize for surviving quarantine!
